The Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting Band 5-6 Annex Occupational Therapist position at North Tyneside General Hospital. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team to enhance the patient journey within the inpatient setting, focusing on timely and safe discharges, seamless transitions, and preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and readmissions. The role involves managing a complex caseload, conducting assessments and interventions, providing clinical education and supervision, and contributing to the development of Occupational Therapy services. Progression from Band 5 to Band 6 will occur after completing designated competencies within a 24-month period, following the provisions of Agenda for Change Annex 20.

Key responsibilities include delivering a comprehensive service to patients, providing specialist advice to families and care professionals, and participating in planning and evaluation efforts for OT services. The candidate will also be responsible for appraisals of junior staff and will work under the guidance of a Team Lead and Clinical OT Lead. The role is centered around fostering a collaborative and inclusive leadership culture within the trust, emphasizing effective service delivery within resource constraints.
