Rushall Medical Centre are looking for a motivated Practice Nurse to join our team at Rushall. Experience working in general practice would be ideal but is not essential. We are looking for a Practice Nurse who is driven to ensure we are giving our patients the essential care and support that they need.
The Practice Nurse role is vital and varied and the successful candidate would ideally be able to undertake a full range of core clinical competencies as identified in the job description.
Provide nursing treatment under the direction of the GP's.
Provide health screening with agreed protocols with referral to GP if indicated
Advise patients on general health care with referral to GP as necessary
Act as chaperone to GPs when required
Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears, etc .On the spot urinalysis (dip) testing, and perform any investigatory procedures requested by the GP. Ensure that all monitoring processes for patients with chronic diseases are undertaken in accordance with practice policy and in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients notes/computer records
Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and hoc reports
Assist in the formulation of practice philosophy, strategy and policy.
Ensure the adequate maintenance of equipment and stock levels in the treatment rooms, liaising with the Practice Manager.

Lifestyle advice diet / alcohol / exercise
Knowledge and implementation of infection controlprocedure
NHS health checks
Family planning
Learning Disability annual review and care planning
Advanced wound care management
Care planning
Child and Adult protection
Risk management
Health & Safety
Health promotion
Ear care and syringing
Able to manage own workload and support others in the team.
Increase in knowledge of diseases and ability to communicate this knowledge to the general public.
Ability to administer Zoladex /Prostrap /Flu/Pneumococcal/COVID/Shingrix
Involvement in care pathways in collaboration with others

Respond to QOF alerts and to actively undertake reviews required in line with the framework.
