The role of "Analytical Support Officer (Data and Insight Analyst)" at NHS England in Leeds focuses on supporting the Clinical and Improvement Analysis Directorate. This directorate aims to enhance health and social care through innovative data products and analytics that reduce unwarranted variation and improve quality. The position is part of the Reducing Unwarranted Variation team, which develops metrics to support various clinical improvement programs, including GIRFT and Population Health. The team consists of about 38 analysts and collaborates closely with clinical leadership. The recruitment may also fill additional similar roles as they become available.

The assignment is within the Clinical and Improvement Analysis Directorate which is responsible for analytics products and insights to support reducing unwarranted variation and improving quality.

This directorate:

Hosts the Model Health System & GIRFT analytics and is the front-door for improvement analytics support to the service.
Leads on clinical audit and registry insights.
Supports Medical Director for Transformation and leads analytics resource for Directorates including Medical and Nursing.
Has close working relationships with CCIO and CNIO and clinical leads.

The assignment is within the Reducing Unwarranted Variation team, which is responsible for analytics delivery to support clinical improvement programmes to reduce unwarranted variation. Programmes include GIRFT, HVLC, Population Health, theatre utilisation and the National Consultant Information Programme.

This team will provide the analytical focal point for metric development to support combined efforts of GIRFT, Population Health, NCIP and insights from clinical audits to support clinical improvement priorities. The team has around 38 posts, including analysts from Band 5 to Band 8D, under the leadership of a Band 9
