We are looking for a dynamic, organised, and enthusiastic MOD General Practitioner to join our primary health care team at Kendrew Barracks, Cottesmore. There may be a requirement to work at other locations with the Alamein Combined Practice Network (Cottesmore, Garats Hay & RAF Wittering) as dictated by business needs.

Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) provides a unique blend of traditional team based primary care and occupational health support to military personnel.

DPHC also has a strong emphasis on education with numerous opportunities to train military medics, nurses, and Doctors.

The position is full time and offers 37 hours a week.

The successful postholder will provide primary and occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards to ensure that the organisational and Principal/Senior Medical Officer's objectives are achieved to optimise patient care.

About us

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
• Maximising the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Service are met.
• Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
• Appropriately supervising the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.
• Representing the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) on Medical Practice related issues where necessary, including participation in unit health committees where appropriate.
