West Suffolk Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Fixed Term Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join their Emergency Department for a 12-month position. The successful candidate will possess strong core emergency medicine skills and may also have or wish to develop additional expertise in areas such as admission prevention, ultrasound, clinical governance, medical leadership, or teaching. Responsibilities include assessing, resuscitating, and managing patients, providing leadership and guidance within the department, participating in the on-call rota, and contributing to the training of medical and nursing staff.

The department operates continuously, dealing with a wide range of patients, and includes various facilities such as triage rooms, resuscitation bays, and consultation areas. The role emphasises collaboration with other specialties, maintenance of departmental protocols, and ongoing professional development.
