Job description
We are the NHS Confederation, the voice of healthcare leaders.
As the only membership body for the whole healthcare system, we are uniquely placed to bring together, support and speak for leaders and organisations across the sector. We join the dots between different parts of the health and care system; we understand the challenges our members face.
Building relationships with industry is a key way we help our members and inform our work. Partnerships can help the NHS get up stream, adopt technology, work differently and achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in a challenging time.
We have a great opportunity for some someone with a wealth of understanding of the health policy landscape, to apply this to our business development programme. This includes building new commercial partnerships, joint ventures, a programme of events, sponsorship and exhibition and more.
We are looking for a leader to help us diversify our income and expand our ambition to support our members to improve, whilst generating revenue to invest back in our work on behalf of the NHS.
If thats you, read on.
As the Assistant Director Business Development & Policy, you will lead two teams:
- our Business Development team, driving our sponsorship and exhibition opportunities across our programme of events, as well as securing partners to co-create and fund our policy work on behalf of members
- our Industry Engagement & Policy team, which works with colleagues across the organisation to shape and deliver new commercial offers and account manage our key commercial partners. The team supports commercial partners around content they present as part of our events, including the programme for NHS ConfedExpo, our major event for NHS leaders, which we deliver in partnership with NHS England.
This role will also work closely with directors across the organisation to develop new commercial opportunities, helping shape and design these, then incubating them until they go live and become BAU and a core part of our offer to members and wider stakeholders. This includes new offers in the leadership and improvement space, consultancy and more.
