The Health Research Authority (HRA) is seeking a Member Engagement and Development Manager in Manchester to enhance the diversity and effectiveness of the Research Ethics Committee (REC) and Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG). Key responsibilities include:

  • Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement: Develop and implement strategies for inclusive recruitment and member support.
  • Strategy Development: Contribute to strategic planning in a healthcare or research context.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and lead teams to deliver quality services.
  • Training Design and Delivery: Create training programs to enhance members’ skills and knowledge.
  • Guidance and Process Shaping: Produce resources to ensure high standards in ethics reviews.
  • Development Initiatives: Support members and Chairs in their roles through expert guidance.
  • Issue Resolution: Address complex member concerns while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Recruitment and Retention Strategy: Collaboratively implement strategies to attract and retain a diverse membership.

The role is part of the HRA Approvals Service, which is dedicated to facilitating health research approval processes in England and improving the research environment through guidance, training, and collaboration.
