The East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is hiring a Consultant in Stroke and Elderly Medicine to join their Stroke MDT. This full-time position involves providing consultant-led care for stroke patients, contributing to clinical governance and risk management, and offering supervision and teaching to junior medical staff. The role supports a comprehensive service for older patients in both hospital and community settings, aligns with the opening of a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), and includes responsibilities like participating in outpatient clinics, medical audits, and MDT meetings. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to enhance stroke services, support rehabilitation, and ensure ongoing patient care. Participation in acute stroke rotas and sharing duties across stroke wards is also required.
