The role of "Highly Specialist Therapist/Clinical/Practitioner Psychologist" at Pennine Care NHS FT in Ashton under Lyne involves working as part of a National research team to pilot a collaborative mental health crisis response for young people in partnership with Greater Manchester Police. Candidates can apply for either a full-time (18.75 hours) or part-time (9.50 hours) position. The post requires engaging directly with young individuals and their families in various settings, conducting psychological assessments, developing therapeutic goals, and implementing safety-focused care plans aimed at mitigating future crises. As part of the crisis team, the psychologist will utilize evidence-based practices to support young people in distress, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and participating in research efforts that will shape future clinical practices at a national level.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role includes teaching, training, and supervising staff, contributing to service development and policy, and ensuring adherence to professional standards and governance. Successful candidates will be expected to engage in continuous professional development, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and play an active part in research and evaluation to optimize service delivery. The position requires travel across various locations in Greater Manchester, reflecting the need for a flexible approach to crisis intervention within a 24/7 context.
