The Liaison and Diversion Practitioner role at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Bodmin is a community-based position focused on assisting individuals with vulnerabilities who come into contact with the criminal justice system. This role involves conducting assessments in police custody and court settings, addressing issues such as mental health, substance use, homelessness, and learning disabilities. The practitioner will work closely with police and judicial partners, provide guidance to divert individuals from the justice process when possible, and ensure they receive appropriate services to meet their needs.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage extensive travel requirements to various locations in the county, including police custody suites in Newquay and Camborne, as well as magistrates' courts in Bodmin and Truro. The successful applicant will contribute to team leadership, supervise colleagues, and emphasize collaboration with statutory and voluntary agencies. This role also requires police vetting clearance, reflecting its sensitive nature, as the service expands its hours to operate 8am-8pm, seven days a week from April 2025.
