The Neonatal Advanced Clinical Practitioner role at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board's Sub Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Centre (SuRNICC) in Glan Clwyd Hospital involves providing expert care for sick and preterm infants, as well as leading clinical decision-making and supervision in the absence of senior medical staff. The position requires expertise in neonatal conditions, with responsibilities including diagnostics, treatment including non-medical prescribing, and possibly delivering difficult news to patients and families. The role also emphasises teamwork within a dedicated neonatal unit and encourages professional development across all pillars of advanced practice.

Candidates should possess a full MSc in advanced clinical practice and be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Fluency in Welsh is desirable. The practitioner will ensure high standards of care and accountability, working within established protocols and legal frameworks while demonstrating strong communication and empathetic skills to support patients and their families through complex healthcare situations.
