The University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Junior Clinical Fellow in Haematology for their Cancer Care division in Bournemouth. This role involves working on the wards with a collaborative team, managing patient admissions, conducting ward rounds, and participating in clinics. Responsibilities include patient assessments, drug prescriptions, discharge administration, updating patient records, and attending Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings. The position requires participation in an on-call rota, with a typical work schedule of 09:00 to 17:00 plus on-call duty, and the candidate will play a vital role in triaging patients and troubleshooting issues on the ward.

UHD require a candidate to fulfil a Haematology Junior role within our Cancer Care division. The post holder will be based on the wards, experience a wide range of experiences and undertake on calls in a 1:7 basis.

They will be required to work with other grades of staff, and help out with ward rounds, admitting patients and clinics.

Clerk and post take administration; writing in patients notes. Undertake patient reviews. Patient assessment, Drug prescription, Discharge administration. Promptly update patient systems. Attend clinics. Attend Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. Triage to medical teams/acute physicians as appropriate. Trouble shoot patients on the ward. Participate in ward rounds Take part in the Haematology on-call shift system.

The post is normal working days 09:00-17:00 plus the on call rota.
