The Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Band 5-6 Development Speech & Language Therapist for the Specialist Learning Disability Service in Buckinghamshire, specifically based in Aylesbury, with additional locations and flexible home-working options. This role is particularly well-suited for newly qualified speech and language therapists (SLTs) who are interested in working with individuals with learning disabilities. Successful candidates will benefit from a supportive environment that includes clinical supervision and opportunities for professional development, with a clear pathway for advancement from Band 5 to Band 6 upon meeting competency requirements.

In this position, the therapist will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, focusing on supporting adults with learning disabilities and communication needs, including dysphagia as their skills progress. The service caters to a diverse range of clients, from those with borderline to profound learning disabilities, alongside various comorbidities. The role encourages creativity and active participation in service development while facilitating joint working with other professionals in the team. Applications are welcomed from both newly qualified therapists and those with more experience already at Band 6 level.
