Band 8a: £61,927 to £68,676 a year per annum inclusive of HCAS pro-rata  PERMANENT 

A 2 day (0.4WTE) job share vacancy has arisen in the Neurometabolic Unit at UCLH due to retirement . The successful candidate will, in a job share, be operational lead for the Neurometabolic Unit. The days of work for the job share will be Monday and Tuesday.

This is an exciting opportunity for a HCPC registered healthcare scientist with an interest in inherited metabolic disease and experience in laboratory leadership and resource management (staff, equipment and consumables).

The Neurometabolic Unit is a highly specialised UKAS accredited medical laboratory No 8341 based at Queen Square. It provides a unique range of investigations and clinical laboratory advice encompassing mitochondrial, neurotransmitter, pterin and amino acid disorders.

Set up in 1995, it has evolved from an academic translational research laboratory to becoming a UKAS accredited clinical laboratory service, which also provides the pathology specimen reception for National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN). On-going research programmes supplement and enhance the service provision
