The role of Service Manager for the Health Visiting and School Nursing Service at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a leadership position aimed at enhancing public health outcomes for children, young people, and their families. The successful candidate, who must be a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) with robust leadership and management experience, will oversee a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services in alignment with local and national health guidelines. Responsibilities include strategic development, performance management, clinical leadership, and fostering collaborative relationships across the local healthcare system to improve service delivery and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.

The Service Manager will report to the Assistant Director of Children and Families, managing nursing teams while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and effective budget management. They will promote a culture of kindness and innovation among staff, maintain excellent communication pathways, and actively engage with various stakeholders to create an inclusive, responsive approach to public health nursing. The role requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively represent the service and advocate for the needs of the community while leading continuous professional development initiatives and ensuring service efficiency.
