Job description
Friendly GP practice in Redhill. Looking for a medical secretary to join our team.
Excellent customer service essential.
To assist in the efficient running of the practice. Providing support to Doctors, Nurses and Practice Manager in providing a high level of patient care to the practice population.
About us
- Type letters of referral for patients using EMIS and Lexacom.
- Type general correspondence, reports, contracts, job descriptions etc at the request of the Practice Manager using the computer word processing package provided.
- Photocopy reports, correspondence, schedules etc as required.
- Issue fee notes for completion of reports, claim forms etc as appropriate.
- Attend training sessions as considered appropriate by the Practice and maintain electronic learning on Bluestream
- Ensure out-going mail is posted at the end of the day.
- Liaise with patients, hospital and outside agencies, as necessary.
- Provide reception cover to help reception when needed
- Be included in the receptionist Saturday rota
- Show receptionists how to send referrals electronically
- Keep referral database up to date
- Coding for Practice Manager and GP Partners such as TWR coding and so on
- Manage worklists on ERS
- Take minutes for practice meetings and other meetings when asked
- Mange the secretaries email address
- Manage the Docman email address
- Manage tasks on Emis and workflow on Docman
- Process and send referrals electronically, by post, child portal etc when needed to i.e. when receptionists are short staffed
- Any other reasonable tasks as requested by Practice Manager or GP Partners
