The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Ludlow Renal Unit, a small and supportive dialysis facility. This role is ideal for nurses with dialysis experience who possess strong communication skills and a desire to positively impact patient care. The unit features four dialysis stations and operates six days a week, providing care to patients with Chronic Kidney Failure who require dialysis three times weekly.

The role involves addressing the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients, delivering high-quality dialysis therapy, and making timely referrals for any changes in patient conditions that necessitate further intervention. The Renal unit at Ludlow has 4 dialysis stations and is open 6 days a week from monday to Saturday.
Previous experience is essential however we are keen to develop staff with further training and courses.
As a dialysis nurse you will care for patients in Chronic Kidney Failure who attend the out patient unit for dialysis 3 times a week.
Responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation ofindividualised patient care. Working in partnership with patients and their carers to ensure the patients training needs are met ensuring their safety to dialyse at home.
- To ensure the patient's physical, spiritual and emotional needs are met.
- Formulate and deliver high quality dialysis therapy. Assessment of patients without direct supervision, seeking guidance on actions that are outside agreed defined standards.
- Recognise changes in patients' conditions which require the intervention of others and ensure that timely referrals are made or escalation procedures enacted as appropriate
