Where possible will attend resus calls and support the resuscitation team leader or lead the cardiac arrest as required.
Visit wards and departments to ensure that they are safe regarding resuscitation and that equipment is maintained in an appropriate state of readiness.
Work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team and individually without supervision.
Ensure that resuscitation care and clinical practice is research and/or evidence based and accurately reflects the departments philosophies.
Liaise with other disciplines on issues which may affect the care and safety of patients.
Produce and maintain accurate records of clinical events.
Investigate all accidents, incidents and complaints relating to resuscitation reporting them to the appropriate personnel, along with the relevant documentation, in a timely manner.
Enter, maintain, and update information on cardiac arrest audit and Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation forms.
Participate in the organisation and delivery of national resuscitation courses such as the Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support Course.
Develop and maintain the skills and abilities of staff acting as resuscitation link trainers
Keep accurate records of delivered training to report these to the appropriate Trust departments.
Liaise with managers and staff when an individual fails to demonstrate competency in resuscitation skills at a training session to ensure that patient safety is maintained, and the individual receives appropriate retraining with minimal disruption to clinical service.
Participate in educational audits and ensure that the Resuscitation Service always provides an appropriate learning environment.
In conjunction with the Learning and Education Manager work to ensure that all Trust staff receive resuscitation training as identified in their Statutory & Mandatory training profile.
Takes on new roles related to staff education as required and where necessary.
Promote a healthy and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual, with relevant resuscitation training experience, to begin a collaboration to provide a quality resuscitation service at both SNHSFT and TGICNHSFT.
Working across both sites,
but primarily based in TGICNHSFT
, you will assist the Lead Resuscitation Officer to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive resuscitation service for TGICNHSFT. This will include a full multidisciplinary training package (including Resuscitation Council (UK) and ALSG courses), resuscitation equipment provision for both hospital and community partners and actively participating in national audit data collection (NCAA).
You will be a current ALS instructor. It would be desirable to have paediatric instructorship, but the full support of the SNHSFT Educational Team to assist you in developing a paediatric resuscitation training portfolio.
The successful application will also strive to form links with Resuscitation Services across Greater Manchester, the Northwest and the UK.
