£33,600 to £39,900 a year  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

We're looking for caring, patient, fun people from all backgrounds to join our teams working with autistic young people with complex needs. Whether you have experience in a care environment, or don't have experience but have a passion to help transform the lives of the young people at Prior's Court - we'd love to hear from you.

We offer a direct-to-site transport service for our Autism Practitioners, with pick-up and drop-off points in Oxford, Newbury, Reading, Swindon, & Basingstoke.

  • To manage a clinical caseload of autistic young people (YP) with complex needs, aged 5 -25.
  • To deliver input through use of the Priors Court Learning Programmes, which develop key skills to enable Young People to live healthy, happy, independent lives after leaving Priors Court.
  • To deliver input in both the educational and residential settings as part of the waking day curriculum to support generalisation of skills.
  • To be an effective member of the Priors Court Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • To ensure application of Prior Approach tools and techniques across all young people programmes.

About us

  • Manage a caseload of autistic YP with complex needs, including assessment, implementation and review of therapy input to ensure progress.
  • Use clinical reasoning skills to analyse and interpret findings from both standardised and non-standardised assessments to identify a young persons occupational strengths and needs.
  • Use of the Priors Court assessment and progress tracking system to measure progress against overall skill levels.
  • Use of the therapy wave model (Specialist, Targeted, Universal) to manage and review caseload to ensure therapy input is meeting the young persons needs.
  • Provide specialist intervention using evidence-based therapy approaches individualised to meet YPs needs in the areas of (not an exhaustive list) emotional regulation, sensory processing and/or fine/gross motor skills.
  • Use of Prior Insight This Is Me plans to devise, write and monitor intervention programmes for implementation by others (e.g. OT assistants, teachers, autism practitioners).
  • Contribution to the annual review process by providing high quality written reports, assessment, review of EHCP targets and attending annual review meetings (as appropriate).
  • Contribute and/or lead on additional assessments, including providing written reports as and when required.
  • Liaise with external (NHS and/or independent therapists) to share information and ensure consistent therapy plan across organisations.
