The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist (Research) to enhance its Department of Gastroenterology, which currently comprises 9 consultants. The role involves providing independent care for patients with gastrointestinal issues, participating in an on-call rota for emergencies, and contributing to audits, training, and governance. The successful candidate will also take part in a multidisciplinary team, engage in clinical quality initiatives, and follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.

The role offers a structured full-time job plan based on a 10 Programmed Activities (PA) week, divided into clinical care, supporting professional activities such as teaching and research, and dedicated research time. Additionally, there will be an expectation to participate in out-of-hours services, with a focus on gastrointestinal bleeds. The Trust is also open to considering candidates seeking part-time positions, and any necessary adjustments to the job content will be discussed during consultations.
