Responsibility for Patient Care
Assessing the individual's care needs, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to meet needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment.
Working in partnership with relatives and carers to develop and implement /improve standards of patient care.
Liaising with staff from multi-disciplines in matters relating to patient care and equipment relevant to nursing care.
Maintain accurate and timely patients records and documentation ensuring confidentiality.
To uphold the Trusts dignity and respect standards.
Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided and is consistent with clinical guidelines.
Using professional judgements is able to analyse a range of patient conditions and act appropriately.
Maintaining high standards of patient care by personal example and professional conduct.
Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.

We offer funded places on a variety of continuing professional development courses from external accredited paediatric critical care course, APLS and AIMs. Whilst also providing in house training and a personalised development program.
We pride ourselves on listening, where your voice will be heard, your knowledge, skills and experience are valued, and we celebrate your contributions within the Team. You will be provided with a supernumerary induction period across the unit.
We offer opportunities of development within our Surgical Day Case Unit, Paediatric assessment unit, Paediatric High Dependency Unit and Paediatric Ward. Within Treehouse we have 2 clinical educators that will provide a personalised development program to support you in achieving your career goals.
Treehouse consists of 20 acute paediatric beds, 8 paediatric assessment beds, 4 surgical day case beds and 2 PHDU beds, caring for children and young people with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions. Specialist nursing teams are available to support this care delivery, including a Mental Health Practice Educator who also provides supervision and bespoke training.
As a staff nurse on paediatrics, you will be expected to deliver compassionate, safe, high quality, care for children of all ages within our large unit. Our service cover specialist inpatient services such as paediatric critical care level 2, paediatric surgery and a paediatric assessment unit.
You should be enthusiastic, motivated with good interpersonal skills and able to problem solve and prioritise during periods of pressure.
In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, you will be required to deliver and supervise patient care for the clinical area, ensuring assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a high standard of care.
Working in conjunction with the team to deliver safe patient and family centred care within a challenging and changing clinical environment. You will provide leadership by supporting junior nurses and students whilst also taking charge of the ward unit when required.
