Occupational Therapist Professional Lead 0.4wte 15 hours (12 month secondment)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist with a proven track record of leading and developing staff and services to join the Urgent Care/ Medical and Surgical Divisions Divisional Therapy Management team to provide Occupational Therapy professional leadership at the University Hospital of North Midlands.

The therapy teams for Urgent Care/ Medical and Surgical Divisions provide both inpatient and outpatient services across Royal Stoke and County Hospitals and cover the specialities of:-

  • A&E and SDEC
  • Acute Medical wards
  • Frailty wards
  • Respiratory Medicine including MND
  • Critical Care
  • Surgical Special Care
  • Elective and Emergency Surgical wards
  • Oncology and Renal Services
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Amputee
  • Elective Orthopaedic Unit
  • Hands Therapy

This is a really exciting opportunity for someone to demonstrate their leadership and management skills in a fast paced acute setting as well as providing clinical expertise and guidance to the teams. This speciality lends itself naturally to innovative ways of working and we are looking for a creative thinking individual who thrives on new challenges and is able to demonstrate a solution focussed approach in problem solving.

Support will be provided by the other Principal Therapists and Divisional Therapy managers and continuous development is provided through appraisal, internal training and external learning. Participate in Trust and external leading programs are actively encouraged.
