To provide Primary and Occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards,in order to optimise patient care and to achieve the objectives of the organisation and Senior Medical Officer.

Whilst the Post Holder may not have direct Line Manager Responsibilities, they will participate in the mentoring of junior personnel, helping to ensure that their training needs, as defined in the Practise Development Plan, are met and that any shortfalls are identified and addressed

About us

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

• Provide general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours to 1630hrs.
• Maximise the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the Single Services (SS) are met.
• Undertake medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
• Training in military Occupational Healthcare will be provided as part of the job.
• Provide appropriate preventative medical advice to both individuals and Chain of Command.
• Assist with advice on the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.
• Provide primary care emergency treatment to any patient who may require this within the Establishment.
• Have a working knowledge of and be actively involved in clinical governance.
• Participate in audit, in accordance with both personal and practice development plans.
• Work in collaboration with all members of the primary healthcare team and line management.
