The Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner specializing in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Operating Department Practitioner or Nurse with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional surgical care. This role requires a proactive individual who can lead and coordinate a dynamic theatre team, deputize for the Clinical Operations Manager as needed, and ensure that all surgical activities adhere to established safety protocols. Responsibilities include managing patient preparations for theatre, overseeing equipment and stock levels, and ensuring high standards of patient care throughout the surgical process.

The successful applicant will act as a role model, providing leadership and guidance to staff while promoting a collaborative and transparent culture within the theatre department. The position involves effective communication across multiple disciplines, planning and delegating work within the team, and participating in staff development through mentoring and training initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Theatre Practitioner will contribute to service improvement, risk management, and addressing complaints, all while adhering to professional and Trust policies. Continuous professional development and support for junior staff are also essential components of this role.
