University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Technician at a higher level (Band 5) to provide near-patient pharmacy services in Medicines Management. The role involves delivering outstanding pharmacy services in a busy hospital setting, including providing technical information to healthcare professionals, managing the day-to-day workload of junior staff, and ensuring the safe storage and supply of medicines. Candidates will also be responsible for staff supervision, recruitment, and training as well as contributing to service improvement and the development of operational procedures. Opportunities for Band 4 applicants are available, who will be placed in a progressive role with on-the-job training.

The successful candidate will work within a collaborative team, which values continuous improvement and patient care. Responsibilities include ensuring best practices in medicines management, mentoring junior team members, and maintaining knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation. The role requires participation in a weekend and bank holiday rota, offering a diverse array of tasks that enhance professional skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.
