The Health Care Assistant (HCA) plays a vital role within primary care, supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care.
We are interested in hearing from an experienced HCA who is a caring and enthusiastic individual who wants to work in our friendly practice to enhance our nursing team in delivering outstanding care.
To assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of high quality patient care. Undertaking clinical work and related tasks as delegated by the practice nurses or GPs following appropriate training and assessment of competency.
To work as part of the Practice Nurse team and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols.
To assist the Practice Nurses in the annual reviews for patients on the practice register for Diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma, Chronic Heart Disease, Chronic Kidney disease, Ischemic Heart Disease, Hypothyroidism, Mental Health and Hypertensive Disease.
To assist in the smooth running of clinics ensuring all necessary equipment and stock is available and high quality standards of infection control are maintained.
Some of the other duties include, though are not limited to
Phlebotomy
Wound Care
Assisting in Minor Surgery/Women's Health Clinics
Blood pressures and ECG's
Chaperoning
Administering Flu and B12 injections under a Patient Specific Directive
