The Trust Fellow position in Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is a six-month fixed-term role with the possibility of extension. This post, equivalent to ST3+, is aimed at candidates who are registered with the General Medical Council and hold MRCS or an equivalent qualification. The selected candidate will join one of the UK's largest tertiary referral units for complex paediatric heart and lung diseases and will be involved in various surgical procedures, including cardiac operations and thoracic transplants.

The role encompasses daytime clinical duties and on-call commitments, where responsibilities include pre-operative assessments, assisting in surgeries, managing patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and participating in teaching and research activities. The position offers an opportunity to gain specialized skills in paediatric cardiothoracic surgery, allowing the fellow to progress towards functioning at the level of a Specialist Registrar.
