The Band 8B Safer Staffing Lead at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust will be responsible for overseeing and providing senior nursing advice on the Safer Staffing agenda, ensuring that staffing levels are safe, sustainable, and meet the needs of patients. The role requires collaboration with various leadership figures, including the Chief Nurse and Deputy Director of Nursing, to implement tools such as the Care Hours Per Patient Day (CHPPD) Report and the Mental Health Optimal Staffing Tool (MHOST). The post holder will generate reports for the Trust's Executive Leadership Team and ensure adherence to national guidance, while also leading training initiatives and managing any regulatory concerns.

Additionally, this role will require the collection and analysis of complex data to inform nursing workforce planning and appropriate reporting to regulatory bodies. The Safer Staffing Lead must act with professionalism, uphold ethical standards, and foster inter-professional collaboration, while managing corporate clinical projects that align with the Trust's strategy for outstanding care. The position demands the ability to provide visible leadership, mentoring and career support for nurses, and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
