The role of "Neurodiversity Expert by Experience (Child and Young People)" at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust entails a unique position for a family member or carer of a neurodivergent child, who may also be neurodivergent themselves. The successful applicant will leverage their lived experiences to aid in the development and planning of the new Neurodiversity team for children under 6 in Enfield. Key responsibilities include providing emotional support to families, facilitating support groups for parents, sharing strategies, and ensuring effective communication between families and healthcare providers. The role also involves maintaining knowledge of local resources, managing data, ensuring compliance with regulations, and participating in the continuous development of the service.

The neurodiversity expert will play a vital part in ensuring that families of neurodivergent children feel understood and supported, while also contributing to the clinical practice of the neurodiversity team. This position not only emphasises the importance of personal experience in shaping support services but also aims to foster a collaborative environment where families feel equipped to access necessary care and resources.
