An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Occupational Health Specialist Nurse Advisor to join the in-house Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Occupational Health service.
It is an exciting time to join our supportive, innovative, and flexible team who are working in partnership with multidisciplinary colleagues to grow and develop the service.
The post holder will support the coordination and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Health to Trust employees and external clients, which will include promoting health and wellbeing and safeguarding; and improving the quality of working life to our NHS clients and any Non-NHS clients we may provide a service to in the future.
As an Occupational Health Specialist Nurse Advisor, you will provide specialist guidance and support to managers, staff and OH colleagues, in accordance with national legislation and local policies and procedure.
Previous experience in Occupational Health will be a key requirement for this role.
We are offering one part-time role (30 hours per week).
To undertake clinical activities as directed by the OH Senior Specialist Nurse Lead, OH Consultant or their nominated deputy to include - vaccination clinics, health screening, case management, health surveillance work, environmental visits/risk assessments, attendance management, health promotion activities (and presentations), ergonomic assessments/training as required and become involved in corporate inductions or clinical projects as required.
To use the Occupational Health database for the entering of clinical activity, ensuring that information is updated in a timely and accurate manner, to include EPP and non-EPP clinical activity and daily immunisation activity.
To undertake an effective employment screening, sickness absence reviews, and case conferences. Providing advice on stress, anxiety, MSK, disability etc. in accordance with the Equality Act, the Trust's Sickness Absence Policy and Promoting Equality and Valuing Diversity Policy.
To act as an autonomous practitioner and specialist advisory service to managers and external contract stakeholders, providing professional advice on Occupational Health and Wellbeing issues.
Undertake appropriate treatment, advice and follow-up on the management of body fluid exposures, including advisory counselling and information-giving, following exposure to blood borne viruses such as HIV, Hepatitis B Hepatitis C.
