As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained, applying your skills and experience to undertake a variety of routine tasks and basic repairs.

As a Maintenance Operative, your focus will be on maintaining the building and grounds, carrying out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including electrical, plumbing, joinery, and building work both inside and outside the care home. You'll also support new residents to arrange their rooms, ensure routine re-decoration is undertaken, and provide an out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the on-call rota.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
• Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
• Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
• Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
• Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in your application, you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do.

Our ideal candidatemust:

• Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
• Hold a full driving licence.
• Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
