The Blood Borne Virus (BBV) Referral Coordinator at Sexual Health Hounslow, part of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is responsible for managing the pathway of patients who receive reactive BBV results from tests conducted in the Emergency Department. The role involves providing health education, support, and guidance to patients to facilitate their entry into care, coordinating appointments at Sexual Health Hounslow clinics, and tracking patients’ diagnostic and treatment pathways to ensure that they are assessed in a timely manner according to national targets.

Additionally, the Coordinator will take the lead on managing Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings for HBV and HCV, maintain relationships with Emergency and Hepatology teams, and work with other service providers to re-engage individuals with BBV into appropriate care. The Coordinator will also support education initiatives for clinicians, conduct regular audits of BBV testing, and oversee reporting on patient treatment linkages. The role requires a proactive approach to teamwork, ongoing professional development, and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
