The Crisis Recovery Worker role at Mental Health Matters in Barnsley involves providing immediate support to individuals in distress, including those at risk of self-harm or experiencing trauma. Working in a non-clinical crisis drop-in center, the post holder will be part of a small team focused on reducing immediate distress through information, safety planning, and signposting to appropriate resources for clients, families, and carers. The position requires collaboration with mental health services, emergency services, and other agencies to address the holistic needs of those seeking help.

Candidates should possess at least an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Mental Health, or a related field, along with awareness or experience in supporting individuals with mental health issues. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude are essential.
