Job description
We are excited to offer this opportunity for a Band 4 Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant role, working with our South Gloucestershire Physiotherapy team, based at Cossham Hospital.
- You will be responsible for assisting the team in providing a high standard physiotherapy service by implementing treatment programmes using a range of exercises and physiotherapy techniques as delegated by a registered professional
- You will be required to organise and run exercise groups under the supervision of registered clinicians
- This role is also responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the team.
- To carry a caseload and implement treatment plans as delegated by a registered physiotherapist assessing patient progress and reporting back to the physiotherapist; this may be in a variety of settings without direct supervision of a physiotherapist.
- To progress/regress exercise programmes as appropriate, recognising your scope of practice and liaising with the referring physiotherapist as appropriate.
- To provide appropriate holistic advice to patients to promote self-management and improve prognosis.
- To deliver groups, including ESCAPE-Pain, with a group of patients, with or without the direct supervision of a physiotherapist;
- In the absence of the delegated physiotherapist to be the first point of contact for any enquiries, which would then be escalated to an appropriate registered professional as required;
- To be responsible for the issuing, ordering and training in the safe use of physiotherapy equipment and aids for patients.
