Job description
The simulation technician/instructor will work closely with academic staff in the delivery of clinical skills and learning through simulation, including the use of specialist simulation and clinical skills teaching resources. Working collaboratively with academic staff, you will plan, prepare and deliver and evaluate clinical and professional skills sessions and simulation related activities across a range of further education and undergraduate qualifications. This includes demonstrating equipment, and ensuring equipment is regularly maintained
Takes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of specified skills and simulation rooms.
Provide general health and safety supervision of students using equipment and working in healthcare simulation and teaching spaces.
In partnership with academic staff and managers, coordinate and schedule teaching with due regard to the availability of staff and equipment.
Prepare facilities in advance of scheduled teaching and ensure that all waste is dealt with promptly and the facilities rest for other users at the end of the sessions.
Assist with the development of new simulation scenarios, including the use of augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed modal delivery, gather appropriate data, and proactively make recommendations.
Work with academic colleagues to plan, deliver and evaluate clinical and professional skills sessions and simulation related activities across a range of further education and undergraduate health and social care courses, drawing on own area(s) of expertise.
Provide skilled assistance and technical guidance to students in the use of clinical skills and simulation equipment and teaching resources.
Under the direction of academic staff, devise and deliver workshops and/or simulation instruction; preparing and running clinical simulation scenarios and contributing to workshops.
Provide advice in regard to the procurement of new equipment, ensuring best value for money at all times.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As post-holder, you will be responsible to the Head of Area, for the following:
