JOB SUMMARY
The post-holder is involved in the education, training and development of non-registered staff, and will showcase a commitment to learning, professional development and maintaining up-to-date mandatory training. With a portfolio of Maths and English GCSE Grade A-C/4-9 or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2) the Care Certificate and NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent, the individual will also evidence completion of role-development packages such as venepuncture, cannulation and ECG, and possess the efficacy to complete additional education and training related to the role.
The post-holder will have competent ICT skills in Trust ICT programmes including Microsoft packages. The individual will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team, and have effective written and verbal communication skills, including accurate documentation of meetings with individual learners. These skills will include inter-personal skills, professional email etiquette, and conflict resolution. Effective time-management, the ability to work on own initiative and an ability to respond quickly and effectively is vital within this role.Working as an effective member of the clinical team across Maternity to ensure all Maternity Care Assistants (MCA), Maternity Support Workers (MSW), and Transitional Care Support workers (TCSW) are inducted, supported, and proactively encouraged to acquire additional clinical skills, and providing effective and safe support to the registered midwives. There will be evidence of working to a high standard and delivering excellent patient care, alongside the experience of supporting colleagues and new starters, teaching or training.Contributing effectively to ensure the Trust and Division meet targets relating to learning and development, including the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions and adapt them to learning need, with support.
Data collection and the ability to interpret information will be part of this role, alongside the ability to apply innovation, problem solve and communicate effectively to a cohort of learners with diverse needs.Assisting the registered midwives in providing assurance to the Senior Divisional Team that the non-registered staff team are competent, safe, compassionate, well-trained, caring and always put the patient first.Is a positive and well-presented role model to all the staff.The post holder will be working across both sites and the community service, with flexibility of shift pattern to meet the needs of the service. Physical ability to set up training rooms with equipment including computer and projection, and transport of equipment and resources across the Trust as required.
