The Patient Transport Service (PTS) Volunteer role with Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust offers an opportunity to assist non-emergency patients in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire by providing essential transport to medical appointments. Volunteers will drive eligible patients who can walk but may require assistance to healthcare settings, including hospitals and clinics for treatments like chemotherapy and renal dialysis. The role requires a valid UK driving license, access to a reliable four-door vehicle, and a commitment to volunteer 2-3 days per month. Full training will be provided, along with a uniform and mileage reimbursement.

Applicants should be caring and willing to engage in a recruitment process that includes an informal interview via Microsoft Teams. Those interested should be at least 18 years old, possess good communication skills, and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The PTS volunteers are part of a dedicated network, and training includes driving assessments and a two-day induction course. Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing patient health and wellbeing as part of the NHS community service.
