The University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a confident and dynamic Emergency Floor Ward Clerk for their Acute Admissions Unit, which consists of 67 beds. This busy, patient-facing role involves a variety of administrative tasks, including patient bookings, answering phone calls, filing medical notes, coordinating transport, and ordering equipment. The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with a diverse range of individuals both internally and externally.

This is a secondment position structured into two part-time roles, with set working days each week. Responsibilities include handling incoming and outgoing calls professionally, providing information to visitors, collecting essential patient information, coordinating referral appointments, and ensuring a seamless experience for patients, visitors, and staff in the ward. The ideal applicant should be able to manage difficult situations calmly and professionally while maintaining sensitivity and understanding towards patients' needs.
