Full time/Part time Band 6 Rotational Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiographer
We are looking for an experienced radiographer or technologist to work in our Nuclear Medicine department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. This is great opportunity to join us in a state-of-art Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT departments in a new hospital building. You will ensure a high-quality scanning service administering radiopharmaceuticals and performing Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT scans. You will be supported by Senior technologists, consultants, management, and dedicated physics and admin staff.
You will be expected to have technical expertise as well as good clinical knowledge. You will capable of responding to challenges, troubleshooting, and working cooperatively as part of a large MDT. As a senior technologist or radiographer you will help ensure effective day-to-day operational of the service. You will need to be resourceful and innovative to ensure that the service delivers prompt and timely care to our patients, as well as maintaining good relationships with colleagues.
The role includes rotation with the Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT team. PET-CT training can be provided. You will be required to work at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton with a rotation to other Trust sites, when necessary. The service will initially run Monday-Friday 8am to 8pm but will expand to encompass weekend working as the service develops.
You will assist with patient flow and maintain regular dialogue with the administrative service. You will help with quality assurance and daily equipment checks. You will be prepared to be trained as an RPS and will assist with departmental research.

The post holder will undertake clinical work in a highly specialised area which requires consideration of the risks of radiation and cross infection. The person needs to possess the empathy and skills to help patients through difficult and complex procedures.
Assess patients referrals and manage care, and to assist in planning and co-ordination of daily workload within the department.
The post holder will be required to perform processing and production of results to the highest technical standards.
May be required to supervise Technologists/radiographers and support staff.
To support the PET-CT Superintendent, Nuclear Medicine Chief Technologist, and Lead Superintendent and to work collaboratively with other clinical colleagues to provide an efficient and effective service.
To work within regulatory controls and rules and ensure a safe working environment in accordance with local rules for radiation protection and Health and Safety.
To work in all Nuclear Medicine departments and weekend and evening duties as required.
