Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)
It is an exciting and transformational time working with the Hertfordshire and West Essex NHS ICB. Sonic Healthcare UK will be taking on the management of Phlebotomy and Pathology Laboratories in the geography including a phlebotomy cohort of circa 150 Phlebotomists.
There are various full time and part time phlebotomist opportunities available for experienced phlebotomists. These roles will have their base at Hemel Hempstead Hospital with the opportunity to work in various and exciting phlebotomy settings such as outpatients, ward rounds and in community clinics.
Key duties will include:
To be a valued phlebotomist in a motivated team with a patient care focus. To ensure professional and technical standards are maintained within the services at all times.
About us
To perform phlebotomy procedures and all duties within the phlebotomy department as assigned by the Phlebotomy Manager, and/or supervisors.
To ensure efficiency and excellent quality of service at all times.
To comply with all relevant company and national standards, guidelines, policies and procedures.
The role includes phlebotomy on 3 Trust sites (Watford General Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital, St. Albans City Hospital) and in clinics in local community sites.
There may be a very occasional requirement to work outside of the WHTH geography but within the Hertfordshire & West Essex geography.
To include, but not limited to, the following:
The collection of venous blood samples from patients of all ages, (including children), in accordance with documented procedures. This will be in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, community clinics and hospital ward rounds.
Support the departmental objectives by ensuring allocated duties are completed and recorded in line with departmental policies.
Provide care for patients who may be anxious or become unwell during procedures.
Achieve and maintain patient contact in line with the local KPI per day following the probationary period.
To partake in the Annual Joint Review with the Patient Services Manager or Team Leader, that will be scheduled annually.
