The role of Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist-Youth Justice in Southampton, offered by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, focuses on addressing the speech and language needs of vulnerable children aged 12-19 within the youth justice system. This position involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, engaging closely with police, probation services, social care, and CAMHS to develop effective interventions and advocate for the children’s needs in various contexts, including education. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, design training for justice sector staff, and develop care pathways tailored to the unique challenges faced by this demographic.

The therapist will work autonomously to deliver integrated care packages and monitor outcomes to inform service development.
