We are inviting applications from enthusiastic, driven individuals to join our Haematology teams at the Barnsley site.

SYB Pathology aims to provide the best possible service for patients and clinicians, improving health outcomes, driving research and innovation, delivering healthcare efficiencies, and ensuring a sustainable workforce, providing job satisfaction and career progression opportunities for all staff.

The post holder will act as an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist providing scientific services to patients as an aid to clinical diagnosis. The successful candidate will be required to participate on the 24/7 out of hours rota and undertake a wide range of complex analytical procedures, performing a range of manual, semi-automated and automated tests using scientific knowledge and experience to comment upon and validate results in line with ISO 15189.

Suitable candidates will require Haematology experience post-registration and ideally have experience of working out of hours. Candidates must be in possession of an IBMS specialist portfolio in either Haematology or Blood Sciences, or equivalent to be appointed at Band 6. However, registered candidates either working towards or aspiring to complete their specialist portfolio will be considered for appointment at band 5.
