The DVT Service Advanced Nurse Practitioner role at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust in Birkenhead involves providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and anticoagulation issues. The practitioner will utilize advanced clinical skills to take medical histories, conduct examinations, perform investigations, and interpret results to deliver tailored, evidence-based care. Responsibilities include leading a nurse-led service for patients with suspected DVT, delivering care across various settings, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions, and offering expertise and advice.

The role also emphasises collaboration with other healthcare professionals to enhance service quality and includes running a daily follow-up clinic for DVT/pulmonary embolism (PE) patients. Additionally, the practitioner is expected to contribute to the education and development of other staff within the service.
