The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant for its Cardiothoracic Surgical Ward. The position involves working collaboratively with a multi-professional team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, assisting registered nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering individualized care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Support the nursing team and participate in risk assessments to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist with patient nutrition, record intake, and document care provided.
  • Safely transport patients and samples, and address patient inquiries or concerns by escalating them to nursing staff when necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness and adequate stocking of care areas and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Attend training and comply with Trust policies, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

The role includes working shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, and requires ongoing professional development towards healthcare support worker registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council.
