The University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated registered practitioner for the role of Theatre Staff Nurse/ODP at Worthing and Southlands theatres. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a band 5 practitioner to enhance their clinical skills through a rotational pathway across Ophthalmology, Day Surgery, and Main Theatres. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of patient care, advocate for patients, and maintain confidentiality while supporting the lead practitioner.

In this role, responsibilities include acting as a skilled circulating and scrub practitioner, participating in the planning and evaluation of individualized patient care, and assisting with theatre and recovery setups. Additional duties encompass maintaining equipment and stock levels, processing specimens, and supporting new staff members. The candidate will also engage with complex medical devices and manage procedures that involve radiation safety, all while fostering positive working relationships across various disciplines. Regular participation in staff meetings and ongoing professional development is encouraged.
