South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust seeks to appoint two proactive Gastroenterology Consultants to enhance its gastroenterology service. One of the positions emphasises educational responsibilities and the other offers a broader role within the service, with possibilities for accommodating special clinical interests, particularly in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Candidates are expected to provide emergency cover, including weekend duties, and share out-of-hours endoscopy responsibilities on a 1:8 basis. The trust values collaboration in service development as well as teaching opportunities, with an obligation to support the clinical education of medical students from Warwick and Buckingham Medical Schools.

The current gastroenterology team aims to expand clinical services, engaging in therapeutic endoscopy, bowel cancer screening, and focusing on areas such as nutrition and acute gastroenterology. The successful candidates will have the chance to participate in clinical research, linking with Warwick University's biological sciences, and will be supported in academic interests related to medical education. The Trust is known for its effective management and offers numerous opportunities for professional growth in a supportive environment.
