The Outpatient Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant at Whittington Hospital NHS Trust in London is responsible for ensuring effective pharmacy operations and delivering a high-quality customer experience. Key responsibilities include dispensing medications accurately, providing advice on over-the-counter (OTC) and pharmacy-only medicines, managing stock through receipt, storage, and inventory control, and counseling patients on medication use. The role requires an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services or a commitment to achieving it, and full-time commitment of 40 hours per week is expected.

The position also involves tasks such as preparing labels using the pharmacy computer system, processing prescriptions, managing customer inquiries, and fostering a customer-first culture within the pharmacy. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop their careers by working towards a Pharmacy technician course while contributing to services that meet the needs of patients and the local community. Note that this role does not fall under the NHS Agenda for Change due to its classification as a Community Interest Company.
