The role of a Primary Mental Health Worker (PMHW) with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Basingstoke involves supporting the Early Help Team within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). This position is ideal for newly qualified Nurses, Occupational Therapists, or Social Workers looking to complete their Preceptorship or Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE). The PMHW will conduct mental health assessments for children and young people, co-facilitate therapeutic group programs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical decision-making and case discussions.

Candidates should possess excellent communication skills to build relationships with young people, families, and support networks, directing them to appropriate services based on their emotional needs. Responsibilities include providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, holding a small caseload, and delivering training to enhance the capabilities of primary care workers in understanding mental health.
