The role of Consultant Psychiatrist - Rehabilitation at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board involves providing specialized psychiatric rehabilitation services as part of the Outreach and Recovery Team (ORT) serving the Rhondda and Taff areas, and overseeing the Cefn Yr Afon Unit, an 18-bedded rehabilitation facility in Bridgend. The post holder will deliver expert clinical assessment and management for patients aged 18 and over with mental health issues, collaborate with senior clinicians, and offer medical consultation to GPs and local consultants.

Additionally, the consultant will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team, supervise junior doctors, participate in service management activities, contribute to education and training efforts, and maintain professional development through ongoing training initiatives. Responsibilities include participating in the consultant on-call rota, fulfilling duties under the Mental Health Act, and complying with the Wales Revalidation Process. The position welcomes both English and Welsh speakers and requires effective collaboration with various healthcare professionals and agencies.
