Staff Nurse - Older Male Care (Mortimer)

Do you want to make a real difference to patient care?We do and we have, but we are looking to recruit more staff nurses to continue and to contribute to making a real difference to ourolder male patients.

We are looking for trained staff nurses to join our journey of celebrating and embracing older care. It's an exciting time for our 5 older care wards as they have recently been redesigned to be 'dementia friendly' following £600k funding from the Department Of Health. We are also piloting a new older persons 'Enhanced Recovery Pathway' - one of the first Trust to do this. This highlights that as a Trust we are innovative (as reflected in our Trust aims - Excellence, Ambition and Innovation) aiming to make a real difference to patient care for now and the future.Excellent patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we believe our staff are central in achieving this. The post-holder:

  • Is responsible for undertaking and recording a comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced based nursing care to a diverse group ofpatients.
  • Is expected to deliver care without direct supervision. Is accountable forthe care delivered and any omissions of care.
  • Is expected to teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the nonregistered nursing workforce.
  • Is accountable for care or any omissions of care that they delegate toothers.
  • Is expected to act as role model, delivering.
